My male hates water of any kind unless he is drinking it. We take our lives in our hands just giving him a bath and he has been known to walk on water, lol.

WE actually got real snow today.......and schools are closed......I am guessing 3-4 inches or so in Williamsburg Va......we lost power last night from about 10pm-2:30am. I was getting a little concerned since we have baby birds!!

The high wind and ice under the snow is the reason for the power outages....Just people are not used to it this part of the States.....we never get anything except occasionally flakes or like my original post.....a 10 minute snow shower. Although, the sun is out now, but it's still snowing. The temperatures aren't supposed to get out of the 30's so don't know how much will melt?

I was outside with the dogs for about 10 min.....Cricket hates it of course.....I did get her to pee this morning around 5:30am although she was very confused and kept running for the door.

She just came in from playing with the other dogs.......and squatted and peed righ in the den. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

    Jill,
Birds will be fine as long as they don't bathe and get wet while the power is out. You can even cover cages to preserve warmth during the power outages too, but I think you cover already at night.

I have my birds on water bottles so I don't have to change water all day and it is a nice plus when there is power outages.

Poor Cricket, Poor You. I was just bragging on Ollie to a family that came to look at birds Saturday and he pooped in the house after they left. And here we've been potty free for a good 2 weeks unless we have unexpected visitors and then we have excitement pee. LOL

Have a nice day off work. ;D

Yeah, we put 2-3 blankets on every cage!! I do cover at night anyway, but with the babies! Whew...I was concerned!!

I doubt we go to school tomorrow either......our road is still terrible and snow covered. Temperatures are droppin here sun went down.

I've been putting off feeding the dogs just knowing Cricket probably won't go outside and poop.....she will go out, but won't poop! Arg!!

We got the tail end of that snow storm and only got about an inch. The county schools are closed, but City schools are on a regular schedule, which ticked my son off since we live in the county, but pay for him to go to a city school, hehehe. I grew up in Florida, what do I care if he gets a snow day?????

I didn't know anyone else had housebreaking issues with their dogs. My male doxie, great, goes out...........does his business when he needs to go, he sits by the door or will sit in front of you and stare at you until you let him out. My female, omg, what a little diva. Hates to get her paws wet, can be outside all day and come in and pee or poop whichever strikes her fancy.............geesh, then other times, good little girl goes down the steps with her buddy and does her business. Go figure. If it is really cold outside, we have to chase both of them down the steps, but the male will eventually go off and do his thing, but I swear, I think my Daffney finds a warm spot, sits on her butt with her legs crossed until we finally let her back in so she can run find a nice warm spot to pee and poop. Love her anyway.

Cool pictures! How do you have 2 St. Bernards and a 2 chihuahuas and a Mastiff? The little ones are probably Alpha dog?

We are out of school again today. College of William and Mary is closed too. That is unusual!

Yea the mastiff stays inside with the little ones and the oldest chihuahua is the alpha...she runs the house..We just got the male chihuahua..so he doesn't know what to do yet..he's only 3 months old.The Mastiff just lets them climb all over her and she just lays there. The 2 Saints stay outside and beleive me they where loving the snow!!!When I took the Mastiff out,,,at first,,she was like,,,what the heck is this stuff!!!????Then she started playing in it!!The chihuahua's didn't want anything to do with the snow...they wouldn;t even go out to potty,,,so I had to get the puppy pads out!!!But schools out here again today!!!And tomorow will probably be a 2 hr delay...but at least the kids and dogs enjoyed it!!!
