Yes, I hope I saw it because it has newer typeface in black at the bottom. I will check it again. Can you do anything about giving it to me as a larger image, so I can keep it on my computer as a screen image? I would love to have it sized to be the background. What does it say on the tote bag, because I can't quite see it to tell. I love Scott's and Armin's dolls. They are fantastic! You are one talented lady, and we love that you have come on board. Jan: I have purchased a mate for Sparky, my lutino hen. He is also a lutino....his parents were (dad) orange-face lutino and (mom) lutino. I also purchased the parents. Two breeding pairs is my limit so now I have my aviary. After the 30 day quarantine, I will not be pairing Sparky up until after Christmas (she is a year old 12/30). I am excited about little yellow babies and I will be handraising a few.

Hi Laurie, sorry that I'm answering a bit late. My next door neighbors have had some visitors, and we have been going out and doing concerts and so forth. So now I'm checking out my messages and there you were! I guess the handfeeding is quite a lot of work and lasts pretty long when you haven't done it before. I haven't done it myself, and I am in awe of people who do. I don't think you have to give the chick pellets right away, just add a few very small ones with his other food, maybe mix with some water or juice to make them more agreeable. There is plenty of time to work on getting him used to them. At first just let him see different types of food -- he won't eat too much of it at first, and he will avoid it if he thinks it will hurt him. Let him get used to seeing it and getting over the fear of it. Then you can slowly work him into bigger seed and small pellets and lot of veggies. Corn is probably the first thing he will eat, besides seed. With the pellets you can crush it up and mix it with his seeds to start off. But relax, there's time to do it all and mainly -- to love your birds!

Hi Jan! Long time no chat. Hope your beautiful birds are doing well. Never going to handfeed again (just kidding, I think). This is, well, more involved than I thought it would be. Now I'm looking toward weaning in a few weeks and thinking, how am I going to get the little bugger to do pellets?

whitepurplefrog, I am sorry to be so long in answering your message but I didn't know that these were there in my message box! Your lovies should look alike when they get past the first moult; you can't tell them apart. The young birds before the moult look like a paler version of the adults. You just have to find a way to identify them from the way they act. They're driving me nuts trying to figure out who's who! Females look exactly like the males. If they are orangefaced, rather than red-faced, then they look a little different. But again they are the same for male or female.

To BirdBabe, just keep on doing what you are and letting your lovebird know that you care. It takes a while for them to get used to a new situation, especially if they are young. They will get used to you and to your voice. This is all very good! Keep it up!

hello i am also a new lovebird owner and very confused and need some advice. My bird doesnt seem to like me. At first he freaked out any time i came near his cage and especially if i went to put my hand inside and he would fly about the cage so i tried to stay away from his as much as possible for several days and now i can put my hand inside and ill hold my finger close to him and he seems to be getting better with me being close. Is this good news? Please help!
