How to use photobucket to host your photos

When I add my images to the forum I always use Photobucket. My images are always there to be used for forums, emails, messengers etc and it's very easy to us. Not only can you upload images, you can edit, crop and decorate them etc aswell as create scrapbooks and slide shows etc. Plus it's free. ;D

    Here's how to do it.

    Step 1.

Log on to http://www.photobucket.com. Once on the home page, click the green bar saying "JOIN NOW" (1). Follow the instructions and create a free account.

Once your account is created, login and you can begin!

    Step 2.

Once logged in, you can create an Album. Look on the left side of the screen and you will see "ADD A NEW ALBUM". Under that you can enter the desired name of the album, then click save. (2)

You can then create lot's of Albums, and they will appear as in the picture below:

You simply click the name of the desired Album to enter that album and view or upload images. Once inside the album, you can repeat the process to create a sub-album! You don't have to create an album though, you can simply upload all the images to the main page, but albums help keep things organised!

    Step 3.

Now you have created your desired albums and/or sub-albums, it's time to upload some images. Enter the album you want to upload the images to, then locate the upload section. This is the upload bar below:

Now before you upload, chose the size you wish the images to be. Where it says "MAX IMAGE SIZE" click "OPTIONS" (3) and then select the desired size. I prefer 800x600.

To upload one or two images, you can click the word "BROWSE" (4). A box will then pop up and you search for the image on your computer:

Once you have selected the image, click OPEN (4.1) and you will see the image name appear in the bar. Simply click UPLOAD in the blue bar and the image will upload! Done!

To upload multiple images, I prefer to click the "USE OUR BULK UPLOADER" (5).

Once you select USE OUR BULK UPLOADER you will see the following: (You may need to install an controller for this, windows will tell you if you do anyway)

In the first box you select the folder on your computer that contains the desired images. (5.1) In the second box you will see available images in a preview. Simply click the images in the 2nd box that you wish to upload (5.2) and they will appear in the 3rd box below. All images in the 3rd box will be uploaded.

Once you have selected the desired images, you are ready. If you wish to remove a selected image, simply click it (5.3) and it will no longer be there. Once you have the images ready, click UPLOAD in the blue box (5.4). Images will then upload into your Album, Done!

    Step 4.

Now you have uploaded the images, it's time to publish them on this lovely forum for example! ;D

When you click one of the images in your album, a box will appear below it. You should see the following:

To post images in the forum, you want the IMG code. (6) Simply left click once in the bar to highlight the text blue.. Then right click, and select copy (7).

You have now copied the IMG code.

    Step 5.

Create a post on the forum and get ready to insert the image. For a quick reply, simply add your message, then right click a blank space in the text bar and click "PASTE". (8)

Your IMG code will then be pasted into your message and look like this:

That's it, post the message and your image will appear in the post!

You can repeat the same step to post a message under "GO ADVANCED" like following:

Then once you have posted, it should look something like this!

That's the basic of it all. Nice, simple and easy. You can then try making slide shows, editing pictures, creating some nice effects etc etc.

A handy tip is: If you wish to add alot of images to the forum, for example a whole album then go to the desired album and beneath the images you will see "SELECT/UNSELECT ALL". Tick the box then click "GENERATE HTML AND IMG CODE". You can then copy the code in the "IMG images for message boards" and paste it into your post. Then all the selected images will appear in your post.

    Any questions, please ask ;D
