    To augment Scott's first post in this thread... How to Post Photo's from other Websites

    Above the Quick Reply box, or in the Advanced text box (seen when making new threads or going to the "Go Advanced" button underneath the Quick Reply box), click on the Insert Image icon above the text box. A small pop-up window will appear, showing the options to Add an Image - From Computer or From URL. If From Computer, simply click on the Select Files button, choose your images, and upload!

    If you are uploading/adding pictures from Add an Image - From URL, then go to the image on the internet (Photobucket, Flickr, Tinypic, etc) and grab the image url. From Photobucket, it may be as easy as mousing over the image in your album, and choosing Direct Link. Click on the box next to Direct Link, and if not copied, then copy the text in the box ("Ctrl + C" or "Right Click - Copy"). Then paste the image url in the From URL Box ("Ctrl + V" or "Right Click - Paste").

    If you are not using Photobucket, then you may use another method to obtain the image url (Webshotes not included). Go to the image, right click on the image and go down to Properties. Click on this link.

    The box that shows up will be the Properties box. Go down to the Address [URL] and highlight the text. Copy and paste the information into the correct areas.

    For an easier method of posting an image, you can use the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get). If you are unsure if this feature is enabled (this feature does not work with all browsers), go to Forum Settings >>> Miscellaneous Options and make sure that Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing is enabled. Then, go to the image located on a website (the image must belong to you or you must have permission to use the image, and it must be uploaded to an internet website - *WILL NOT work from your e-mail or computer*) and highlight the image.

    An image that is not highlighted

    A highlighted image

    After the image has been highlighted, you may copy the image, then paste into the text box.

    If you are writing the code out, the code should look like the following for an image.

    [IMG]img url[/IMG]

    Example

    [IMG]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/MonicaNFids/The%20Fids/Budgies%20N%20Bourkes/Blue01.jpg[/IMG]

    Result

    And for an image click-able thumbnail

    [URL=image url][IMG]image thumbnail[/IMG][/URL]

    Example

    [URL=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/MonicaNFids/The%20Fids/Noel%20N%20Casey/Fids068.jpg][IMG]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/MonicaNFids/The%20Fids/Noel%20N%20Casey/th_Fids068.jpg[/IMG][/URL]

    Result (click on thumbnail to view larger image)

    If you have images that are too large to upload to the forum, or too large to insert into the forum using the IMG tags and you don't know or understand how to use the thumbnail feature, then you can use some free image editing software. I personally recommend the following. (although there are other ones out there!)

    Paint.net (If I'm not using Paint Shop Pro, I'm using this one)
    Windows Live Photo Gallery (I've used this program to create great looking panorama's!)
    GIMP (I have personally never used this program but appears similar to Paint)
